Nladoka Magica is a series full of symbolism. In this anime, special attention is paid to empty chairs. However, what does this mean? Many people think that this furniture is a reference to another anime, Bokurano, a reference to another anime, Bokurano, where children sitting on chairs give their lives for the privilege of fighting to protect the Earth. An empty chair conveys the "meaningful absence" of a person. The chairs are thought to symbolize past magical girls who also gave their lives. Falling from one of them in Rebelion Madoka also empties it, signifying her absence from this world. In one key shot, series director Yukihiro Miyamoto also left a note about chairs: - Chairs from many civilizations to denote all the worlds with which the alien is already connected. The universe is suddenly filled with civilizations to satisfy Kyubei's unquenched appetite. Hints that aliens are not just Kyubei. Perhaps this means that the empty seats are filled with observers from other worlds and times unseen by the viewer. /'/5 t <r m ? e m p t ® ? fr' Li?® ? t m № m « # © # t C ^ Jb' ■o £ A t i tilt M £ 6 g?
